Press Start 2P Font

Push Start 2P is a bitmap font determined by the font layout from eighties Namco arcade video games. It works best at measurements of 8px, 16px and other multiples of eight. While the design of uppercase letters and digits dates back to Atari’s “Sprint” (1977), the particular glyph types on this TrueType conversion are according to those from “Return of Ishtar” (1986), among the primary games to include and often use lowercase likewise as uppercase letters in its monitor font.

In contrast to the first font within the “Return of Ishtar” ROM, Press Begin 2P includes lots of non-ASCII Unicode figures for pan-European use, which includes Greek and Cyrillic. It could be expanded to aid other scripts.
